The story behind Alaan's name and how "right now" became its promise to businesses.
- Alaan takes its name from the classical Arabic "Al aan," which means "right now," and that idea drives how the company wants businesses to manage spending.
- Founder and CEO Parthi wanted a name that was Arabic, simple to say and available as a .com, and "Al aan" ticked every box.
- The "right now" idea is about immediacy, so every card swipe is meant to make spending and expense tracking happen quickly.
Every great story begins with a name, and ours is no different.
Welcome to Alaan—where business finance happens ‘right now.’
When we set out to name our company, we knew it was more than just picking a name. The name should define who we are and what we stand for—in other words, our mission and culture.
The story of naming Alaan is close to our founder and CEO, Parthi’s heart. He fondly recalls, “When exploring names, we knew a few things — we wanted the name to be in Arabic, simple and easy to pronounce, and ideally available as the '.com' domain. Then we hit upon the word ‘Al aan,’ a word in classical Arabic but understood across dialects.”
‘Al aan’ means ‘right now.’ This perfectly reflects what we are about—enabling businesses to manage spending and make decisions quickly and efficiently. The concept of ‘right now’ captures the essence of immediacy and action that our platform is all about.
It also conveys the urgency and energy we bring to addressing traditional spending challenges. Every time businesses use an Alaan card, they tap into this promise of immediacy and efficiency.
Whether making purchases or tracking expenses, our platform ensures it happens smoothly and, of course, right now.
