Eight months ago, we asked ourselves a simple question: Where do finance professionals go to connect beyond boardrooms?
Finance isn’t just about numbers—it’s about the people behind them. But there wasn’t a space where finance professionals could openly share ideas, learn from each other, and build real connections.
So, we decided to build it.
One simple question guided everything we did.
From the very beginning everything we did was shaped by one core principle: Does this add value?
If it didn’t help finance professionals grow, connect, or learn—we didn’t do it. That principle became the foundation of everything that followed.
It started with a simple idea: good chai and great conversations.
The first step was ChAI with Alaan—a gathering of thirty finance professionals, talking about chai, AI, and everything in between. We weren’t sure what to expect, but what happened in that room was special. People weren’t just attending—they were staying back, exchanging ideas, and having conversations that went beyond their day-to-day work. That’s when we knew this was more than just an event.
And that was just the beginning.
A space for finance professionals to learn, connect, and grow.
As the community grew, so did the conversations. In our Chief Future Officer series CFOs started sharing their journeys, giving insight into leadership, decision-making, and the challenges they had faced. More events followed—some small and interactive, others larger with fireside chats on the future of finance. We wanted to bring finance professionals together, not just in person but wherever they were, so we launched online webinars to make these discussions accessible to everyone.
We also realized that finance professionals needed more than just conversations—they needed resources. That’s where Alaan Academy came in. A growing library of insights, guides, and tools designed to help finance professionals stay ahead.
A community that extends beyond events.
As more people joined the conversation, it became clear that these discussions needed a home beyond our events and webinars. That’s when we started what is now the FinTalk community—an online space where finance professionals could ask questions, exchange knowledge, and support each other in real time.
Then came Job Vault, an initiative to help finance professionals find and access relevant career opportunities. Because a strong community isn’t just about conversations—it’s about helping each other grow.
And we’ve been adding to it ever since.
From an Idea to a loved community.
What started as an experiment has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined. But the purpose remains the same: to add value.
