We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Automation Lead to join Alaan, a dynamic and fast-paced startup. The ideal candidate will drive QA automation independently while leading and upskilling a team of manual testers. This role is crucial as we transition from manual testing to automated solutions, ensuring the highest quality of our innovative spend management product.

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Automation Lead to join Alaan, a dynamic and fast-paced startup. The ideal candidate will drive QA automation independently while leading and upskilling a team of manual testers. This role is crucial as we transition from manual testing to automated solutions, ensuring the highest quality of our innovative spend management product.

Leadership and Strategy:

• Take full ownership of the test automation strategy and implementation.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of the automation framework.
• Drive the prioritization and execution of automation initiatives to enhance product quality.

Team Development and Mentorship:

• Lead, mentor, and upskill a team of manual testers, transforming them into proficient automation testers.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the QA team.
• Provide training and development opportunities to ensure continuous team growth.

Continuous Improvement:

• Develop and refine a comprehensive automation strategy.
• Continuously monitor, evaluate, and enhance test scripts and automation processes.
• Ensure the automation framework adapts and scales with product evolution.

Technical Excellence:

• Select and integrate the best tools and frameworks for QA automation.
• Maintain high standards of automation execution, seeking innovative ways to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in QA automation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with product, development, and commercial teams to understand requirements and anticipate changes.
• Ensure the QA process seamlessly integrates with the overall product development lifecycle.
• Advocate for quality and reliability across the organization.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise:
• Extensive experience in creating and implementing Automation Frameworks for Web, mobile and backend systems from scratch.
• Proficiency in automation testing using Cypress, Playwright (Javascript).
• Proficiency in mobile automation testing using Appium.
• Deep understanding of various testing levels and methods: unit, integration, system, acceptance, functional, regression, performance, black, grey, and white box testing.
• Leadership Skills:
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of testers.
• Strong ability to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability for team and project outcomes.
• Personal Attributes:
• Highly self-motivated and proactive in identifying problems and implementing solutions with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable with hands-on tasks, including those that may be mundane.
